I was at the school’s grand opening. It was a lovely ceremony! Our website is about Kamakwie Wesleyan Hospital. We would love to converse and fill you in on many of the people in the book. One of my medical students brought it here to Kamakwie for me and I love it! By the way, Rev. Allusine is building that library, want to help? Dr. Karen

      Dear Dr. Karen,

How nice to hear from you! Thank you for writing. I found your website while I was researching my book, and was happy to read about your work at the hospital. I have begun collecting funds for the library, and absolutely want to help. I don’t have your email address, but perhaps you could send me a quick note to mine: info@kamakwie.org.

I’m glad you liked the book, particularly given how well you know–and how deeply you care for–the community in Kamakwie.

      Best wishes,
      Kathleen

Hi, Kathleen: Just finished your book, and I’m speechless. Such a beautiful tribute to the people you met, their struggles, yet endless hope for the future, and their belief in the power of love as a problem-solving force. Seeing the gorgeous faces, particularly of the kids, adds so much to the poignancy of their stories. I’ve always wished I’d been brave enough to contribute by volunteering in a part of the world where help is most needed, but it hasn’t happened…yet. I’m interested in making a contribution directly to the library, if you have a contact. Thank you!
