Two people have died in the village near Kamakwie. They have left behind four orphaned children–three girls and one boy. Their names are: Ishaii (14), Foday (11–the boy), Adama (8) and Mary (4). Can you imagine? My three children are 11, 9 and 4. Almost exactly the ages of their three youngest. And the idea of them being left traumatically alone stays with me.
Alusine has sent the names, too, of the sick. Each of these represents a quarantined family. All are women except for the last three.
Please think of these sisters and brothers of ours–hold them in your heart and say their names out loud.
