Makeni is just 90 kilometers (55 miles) from Kamakwie. This is the situation there now.
Rev. Alusine sent me a note today talking about the people in their area affected by Ebola. Their neighbours are gathering food and supplies for them. I know because I went to Kamakiwe how little “extra” anyone has. And yet they will find ways to share. I think of the piles of extra things I have.
“Really,” Alusine wrote, “it’s not easy for them. It’s only by the grace of God that they are surviving at the moment.”
